Field Use and Launch Guidelines
General
- Club launch sites are for sanctioned club launch use only.
- Read and follow the Model and High Power Rocket Flight Procedure. Copies are available from any club Officer.
- No one is allowed to be in the vicinity of the launch pad area during a launch (except for loading rockets onto the launch pads) for their own safety.
- Parental or guardian supervision of children is recommended at all times.
- No alcohol beverage consumption will be permitted during a launch.
- Anything you bring to a launch site must be taken back with you. Bring a trash bag for any garbage. Remember, we are guests.
- Use biodegradable recovery system wadding (2" to 4" of broken-up lettuce and cabbage work excellent).
- All RC equipment must be secured at the registration table. Arrangements will be made for use by owners as needed during a launch.
- Cluster high power motor ignitors may be installed at the launch site during flight prep but must all be shorted together before inserting into motors and unshorted when rocket is in launch position.
- We have a special launch pad setup for hybrid rocket motor powered flights. See the RSO for details
- Bring a gallon of water with you to a launch event. Fire control is of primary concern at the launch pad area.
